Mercury

Mercury represents communication and exchange. The intellect and thinking are attributed to him.

The planet Mercury has cooled since its formation and has contracted accordingly. The shrinking process has left characteristic traces such as curved, cliff-like scarps. Mercury is closest to the Sun, which means we can barely see it from Earth. There is no life on Mercury, no volcanoes, no wind or oceans, but it is the fastest planet.

Astronomical Significance

The smallest planet in our solar system is Mercury with less than 5,000 km. Its temperature varies between +430° and -170° C. Mercury’s core is made of iron and its surface is made of rocky material. This means that impacting craters only leave dents on the surface and cannot destroy anything.

Astrological Symbol

Mercury can help us unite our opposing sides of personality. He represents the exchange, communication and agility of thought.

The intellect is presented through him. Even though he stands for superficiality, he enables self-knowledge and insight. With him we get the possibility to carry out processes of transformation.

Short trips, trainings and seminars are embodied through him. All devices that are related to communication are under his control. This includes, for example, telephones, books, newspaper, the Internet, cars, television, writing pens or music.

In the birth chart we learn about the planet of communication how a person thinks and speaks. His spiritual interests, organizational thinking or intelligence are represented by him.

Meaning Retrograde Mercury

As soon as Mercury turns retrograde, no new contracts should be signed. Restlessness, broken appointments as well as delays rule everyday life and misunderstandings are booming. Communication problems are on the horizon. Disputes increase.

However, Mercury retrograde is also good when it comes to making complaints or working through things that have been left undone. For example, filing tax returns, winning back old clients, or clearing up old issues are all under a good star at this time.

Mercury is retrograde 3 times a year for about 3 weeks.
